A 3-year-old boy who died when he fell in a hole in the backyard of his Grantsville home was identified by police on Thursday. Jacob Wayman had been sent outside by a baby-sitter to get his shoe, said Tooele County Sheriff Frank Park. The child fell headfirst from a pile of dirt on which he was playing into a nearby hole. The approximately 3-feet-deep hole collapsed on him, and he apparently suffocated, Park said. Paramedics' attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful, and the child died after being flown to Primary Children's Medical Center. - Lindsay Whitehurst
