Libby Wilson, a Draper agent who says she is owed $9,000, alleges AllPro executives have known for a while that the business was in trouble but never warned the agents. After Wilson tried for several weeks to get her commission, an AllPro broker told her recently that the company is closing, she said Saturday.
"They should have stopped accepting our business and told us to go elsewhere," said Wilson, who contends many other agents also are owed money.
Her only recourse to get her money would be a civil lawsuit, something she can't afford.
Principal broker Douglas Bates could not be reached for comment Saturday and the AllPro office at 1178 Brickyard Road, Salt Lake City, was closed.
Another AllPro principal, Jeremy Lyman, resigned last week from his position on the Salt Lake Board of Realtors, said board President Jillinda Bowers. Lyman also could not be reached for comment.
AllPro has offices throughout Utah, including in Salt Lake City, West Jordan, Layton, Lehi, St. George, Hurricane and Ogden.
AllPro is the third-largest real-estate company in the Salt Lake Valley, Bowers said. It had been the second-largest but dropped down last year, she said.
Wilson said AllPro had about 800 agents in Utah at one time but many have left in the past year. The Utah Division of Real Estate lists 629 agents who have their licenses with AllPro.
Many agents are being encouraged by AllPro principals to transfer their licenses to a new Lehi agency, which Wilson claims is being started by AllPro principals. She has refused to join that firm, she said.
Another AllPro agent, Shane Jackson, said AllPro officials mentioned "that there would be something opening up" but he wants to move to another firm. Jackson said he is owed $500 to $600 and is unsure whether he will get that money.
AllPro Realty Group has no connection to Brigham City-based All Pro Real Estate, which does business throughout Utah. Jeffrey Packer, principal broker of All Pro Real Estate, said his company was incorporated in 1979 and just had one of its best months ever.
