Australian alt-country artist Kasey Chambers has teamed up for the first time with husband Shane Nicholson for "Rattlin' Bones," and the results surpass even her infectious debut, "Barricades and Brickwalls."
This is a country album for people who don't like country, with guitars, dobros, banjos, lap-steels and fiddles tastefully blending with the two's beautiful harmonizing.
Chambers, in particular, has the beguiling voice of a cherub. It's a bluegrassy effort, whether the songs are up-tempo or elegiac. The record reached No. 1 in their native country, and now American audiences can see what all the buzz was about.
