Zoo fundraiser » Hogle Zoo invites you to its annual fundraiser, "Zoo Rendezvous," Sept. 4 from 6-11 p.m. at 2600 Sunnyside Ave., Salt Lake City. Dinner will be catered by some of Utah's finest restaurants; also featured will be live entertainment, dancing and a silent auction. Symphony gala » The Utah Symphony announces its opening-night gala on Sept. 12: The black-tie dinner is at 5 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Building, 299 S. Main St., Salt Lake City, followed by the symphony's concert of "Ode to Joy," directed by Keith Lockhart, at 8 p.m. at Abravanel Hall, 123 W. Pancakes for sight » Harmons will host its annual Utah Lions Club Breakfast on Sept. 13, from 8-11 a.m. at seven Harmons' stores; in Kearns, South Jordan, Taylorsville, Ogden, Brickyard, West Valley and Bangerter Crossing. The breakfast will benefit the Utah Lions Club Foundation, which supports sight-preservation programs. Cost is $3, which includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, hash browns, orange juice, milk and coffee.
