Posted: 12:30 PM- Utah's experiment with using backup quarterback DeVonte Christopher as a receiver continued Tuesday with good enough results that the experiment could become permanent, at least for the 2008 season.

Christopher, Utah's freshman fourth-string quarterback, spent more time with the receivers than the quarterbacks in the morning session.

"He'll stay there for at least the short term," said Utah coach Kyle Whittingham, who added it was a "strong possibility" that Christopher would make the trip to Michigan as a receiver.

Christopher impressed coaches enough as a special teams player in Saturday's scrimmage to warrant the move.

The last time he lined up as a receiver was as a sophomore in high school.

"It's a whole other mindset when you are playing quarterback," he said. "You know where you are supposed to be and timing of the routes but when you are running the routes, blocking and things like that it's different. I think it's a little easier to play quarterback."

While open to the role now, Christopher wants to remain as a quarterback.

Utah's list of injured players continues to get shorter with Darrell Mack (sore Achilles tendon) and Aaron Tonga (knee) the only ones in the pit.
