Posted: 1:12 PM- Police are looking for a 16-year-old suspect in a shooting that left a 26-year-old man in critical condition early Sunday morning in Salt Lake City.

The shooting resulted from an earlier fight that involved the victim's sister and another woman at a club, said Salt Lake City Police Lt. Scott White.

At the end of the evening, the woman and her friends called her brother, who was not at the club during the fight, for a ride home. About 2:25 a.m., they stopped outside an apartment complex on the 1400 South block of West Temple.

The shooter, who knows the other woman involved in the fight, pulled up in a small, possibly bluish-green car, White said. The victim was out of his car when the shooter stepped out of his car and fired three to five shots, White said.

The man did not appear to be the intended victim, but was hit in the abdomen. The shooter fled northbound in the car, White said. The victim's friends started to drive him to the hospital, when they were intercepted by police in the area who had heard the shots.

The victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Police did not release his name or the name of the suspected shooter.
