Posted: 3:57 PM- CBS affiliate KUTV is laying off 10 to 15 employees to deal with slumping advertising revenues.

"It's a tough economy out there right now and it is kind of adjusting to the pressures of that," General Manager David Phillips said Friday.

Phillips said layoffs began earlier this week and are "pretty much finished."

About 184 people worked at the station on Friday.

Phillips said KUTV's Utah County bureau will close by the end of August. Reporter Kathryn May, who has been reporting in Utah County since 2004, will be laid off.

A photographer will continue to work out of Utah County.
