Posted: 10:04 AM- Salt Lake City police are looking for a man and woman in connection with a downtown apartment robbery that left the victim pantless -- and poorer.

Police say the man, whose unit is near 500 S. and 500 East, was watching television 1 a.m. Tuesday when he heard a knock at the door. He looked through the peep hole and saw a woman, who said she needed to use his telephone.

The man, in his underwear at the time, opened the door and let the female inside. He went to the bedroom to put on a robe, but when he came back another man had entered his apartment, police said.

The male intruder grabbed the victim by the throat, pushed him to the floor and demanded money, police said. Along with $30, the suspect also absconded with the victim's pants.

He then cut the phone line and took the apartment dweller's cordless phone before leaving with the woman.

Both suspects are in their 20s. The woman is described as 5-foot-4, white and of slender build. The male was black, 6 feet tall and wearing a short goatee.
