Posted: 10:20 AM- An Ogden woman was instantly killed when her car was struck at an intersection by a vehicle that allegedly ran a red light.
Ogden Police Lt. Scott Sangberg said witnesses reported that 54-year-old Kathleen D. Bowles was stopped at a red light facing southbound on Monroe Avenue. When the light changed, witnesses say Bowles accelerated her 2001 Toyota Camry, and that's when a 2000 Ford Ranger heading west on 12th Street smashed into her car.
Sangberg said the driver of the Ranger had not yet been cited, pending further investigation.
"We don't usually issue a citation, because the last thing we want someone to do is plead guilty to a lesser extent," Sangberg said. "That will come when the investigation is complete and presented to the county attorney."
