BYU assistant coach Robert Anae.

Count BYU offensive coordinator Robert Anae among the coaches who believe this is the best defense that Air Force has had in 10 years, maybe longer.

"We are looking forward to a tremendous opportunity to be able to execute against a high caliber defense," Anae said after Wednesday's practice.

Having watched hours and hours of film since Monday morning, Anae said Air Force's secondary is outstanding and one of the best in the conference.

"The matchup has always been an intriguing matchup against them, because it pits your execution against theirs," he said. "Both teams play at a high level. Both teams play from a committed perspective. What wins the

Unga update

Running back Harvey Unga (sprained left ankle) missed practice again on Wednesday, but said he plans on practicing Thursday and playing on Saturday.

Asked if he could play today if he had to, the junior smiled and said he probably could.

He needs 21 yards to become the all-time leading rusher in school history, but said it doesn't matter to him which opponent he breaks the record against.

Facing Air Force

triple-option attack before.

But the attack is not totally foreign to Logan, who says he faced something similar when his Foothill (Calif.) Junior College team played against San Mateo Junior College in 2008 and 2007.

"For a corner, there's not a lot different," he said. "I just stick to my receiver and don't worry about the run as much. The way their blocking assignments are, they will crack down on our safeties at times with receivers. That should free me up to be able to go in there and make some plays."

Tackling the future

Braden Brown , the former Highland High star who was recruited to play tight end at BYU, will likely be an offensive tackle for the remainder of his college career, Mendenhall said.

"He looks really good there, and I think he will have a bright future there," the coach said.

Brown was moved to right tackle early in the season when the Cougars were having depth issues on their offensive line.

He played the entire game at right tackle against New Mexico in the absence of Nick Alletto .
