A Greek company that manufactures and distributes wireless communications products is expanding its Utah operations to serve as its U.S. distributor.

E-zy.net, headquartered in Veria, Greece, plans to open an assembly and distribution center in Draper, where a small warehouse now operates, the company's U.S. representative said Monday.

"E-zy.net virtually has no sales in the U.S. right now," said Scott Parsons. "So with opening of a U.S. base of operations we'll be increasing sales from virtually nothing to hopefully a pretty good level."

The company sells products to wireless Internet service providers that compete against cable and DSL providers.

Parsons, former owner of Pacific Wireless, said the company decided on Utah because he lives in the area after moving Pacific Wireless to Utah before its sale. The Salt Lake area also provides a good work force, quick access to imported products such as those from China and a central location in the western United States, he said.

Parsons said that with most of the company's customers in the Southwest and nearby states, Utah offers a location to move products rapidly.
