Posted: 11:01 AM- ST. GEORGE - SkyWest Inc., the parent of SkyWest Airlines, says it is dropping its pursuit of ExpressJet Holdings Inc.

SkyWest had its eye on ExpressJet, even after a $3.50-per-share takeover offer was rejected in April.

SkyWest chief financial officer Bradford Rich says the Utah-based company will pursue other elements of its strategic plan.

ExpressJet operates regional flights for Continental and Delta Air Lines.

SkyWest operates SkyWest Airlines and Atlantic Southeast Airlines, based in Atlanta. It has regional agreements with United Airlines, Delta Air Lines and Midwest Airlines.
