The contract ban is the latest in an ongoing dispute over what the Air Force claims were faulty flares used in search and rescue efforts that were made by ATK Launch Systems Division, which employes thousands of Utahns.
The Pentagon instituted the administrative ban on Feb. 5, which caught the attention of Utah's congressional delegation.
"Given ATK's track record of success, I found these allegations very disconcerting," Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, said.
Hatch and the rest of the state delegation met with Air Force Officials in a closed door meeting to resolve the temporary contract ban.
The Department of Defense lifted the restriction on Monday, but a civil lawsuit against ATK over the quality of its flares remains in the courts.
