Provo city officials say that goal, a year past schedule, was achieved last week, according to the paper, which reports today that iProvo needs to reach 13,000-15,000 subscribers to break even by next summer.
Kevin Garlick, iProvo's acting telecom director, told The Herald blame for iProvo's failure to meet subscriber and revenue targets lies with its first retail partner, HomeNet Communications and its bankruptcy in 2005.
Mstar and Nuvont -- which both provide TV, Internet and Phone service on the fiber network, according to Mstar -- have replaced HomeNet as retail providers on iProvo and are adding subscribers and revenues again, the newspaper reports.
The Daily Herald says the Utah County Attorney's Office is considering issuing subpoenas for the financial records of HomeNet and several former employees.
