Recognizing a new crop of upcoming technology and biotechnology prime movers, vSpring Capital on Wednesday released the 2006 edition of its Top 100 Venture Entrepreneurs. In all, 104 entrepreneurs and business leaders were nominated by their peers as most likely to succeed in a startup venture within the next five to seven years, as either a chief executive or chief technical officer. "This year's v/100 includes some very remarkable people. The list serves as an instructive demonstration of the state's potential for growth and development, especially in the technology sector," said Dinesh Patel, managing director of vSpring Capital. Nominees will take confidential online surveys to choose a Top 10, who will be asked to represent their industries in forging ties to investors and each other on common issues. - Bob Mims
