Bretta Ferrie has joined Phoenix-based Meritax Property Tax Consultants as president of Southwest operations. Ferrie has more than 18 years of experience in the property tax consulting field. Michael Nader has joined PGM Inc., a Utah-based data collection and processing company, as a team member in its client development group. Brent Baker has joined the law firm of Woodbury & Kessler. A special counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for 14 years, Baker will focus on white collar defense, regulatory investigations, internal corporate investigations, securities and complex commercial litigation. Joseph Gonzalez of Springville has been named director of financial development for the Mountain Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross. He was president of Rhino Investments. Liberty Heights Fresh, a specialty grocery store in Salt Lake City, has hired Jennifer Hyvonen to handle marketing and communication. Hyvonen has eight years of communication experience. Harmons has promoted three employees to store directors. Julie Natter, previously bakery manager at Harmons West in West Valley City, is the new store director of Harmons Cougar Place in Kearns. Store director Kevin Bushnell has moved from Harmons Cougar Place to Harmons 7th Street in Midvale, and Ryan Morris has moved from Harmons 7th Street to the Brickyard Harmons in Salt Lake City. Bruce Herron has been appointed vice president of worldwide sales by Forum Systems, Inc., a Salt Lake City firm that provides security for Web systems. Pentalon Construction has promoted Cindy Cummings to safety director and hired Emily Cain as marketing assistant. Cummings joined Pentalon in 2003 and has more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry. Cain previously was a project coordinator for a contract furniture company. John Purvis has been named to the board of Lindon-based CORDA Technologies Inc. Purvis is executive vice president of worldwide sales at Encover. Jan Zogmaister, owner of National Battery Sales Inc. in Ogden, has been named Utah's 2005 Small Business Champion of the Year by the Utah division of the National Federation of Independent Business. Zogmaister chairs the Utah Department of Workforce Services' youth council, sits on the board of the Ogden/Weber Chamber of Commerce and is president of Weber County Homemakers. George Haley and Paul Warner have become fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Haley, a partner in the law firm of Holme Roberts & Owen, has practiced law for 37 years. Warner, an attorney for 39 years, is U.S. Attorney for the District of Utah. VCBO Architecture has promoted Karen Ferguson, Nathan Leavitt and Vinson Johnson to associates, Molli Kiser to project architect, Joe Romero and Tom Thorum to project managers and Dave Anderson and Pablo Gotay to project coordinators.
