For a second time, American Skiing Co. has extended its deadline for the submission of tender offers on its 12 percent senior subordinated notes that come due in 2006. Originally set for Nov. 8 and pushed back to Nov. 12, the deadline now has been moved to Friday at 3 p.m. Park City-based American Skiing, which owns The Canyons resort, has notes worth $120 million, but has received tenders so far for only $118.5 million, a company statement said.

Lindon-based SCO Group has entered into a joint marketing promotion with BASIS International of Albuquerque, N.M. The promotion, which runs through Dec. 31, offers discounts of up to 40 percent on upgrades to SCO OpenServer 5.0.7 and BASIS International's BBj 4.02 or PRO/5 5.0 product.

SkyWest Airlines Inc. has signed a long-term engine maintenance agreement with Standard Aero for work to be performed on its fleet of CF34-8 engines used on its new CRJ-700 regional jet aircraft. The agreement is for a period of 16 years and will cover heavy maintenance work on the engines. St. George-based SkyWest has 10 CRJ-700 aircraft in its fleet and is scheduled to take delivery of an additional 22 CRJ-700 aircraft in May.

To expand its Spanish Fork operations, PDM Steel has purchased 15.9 acres at 1400 N. 300 West from East 39th Radiology Clinic Pension Trust. Steve Condie of NAI Utah Commercial Real Estate facilitated the transaction.

Wilbur Smith and Associates has been selected to provide design and optional construction phase services for a new TRAX station at 900 S. 200 West, Salt Lake City, on the existing light rail line. Richard Chong & Associates and Steve Greene & Associates are also part of the design team.

Salt Lake City-based Weidner & Associates, a process instrumentation and controls distributor, has agreed to represent Switzerland-based Endress+Hauser in southern Nevada. Weidner & Associates already represents the company in Utah and Idaho.
