The Governor's Office of Economic Development will receive more than $300,000 in federal stimulus money to expand Utah's weatherization training programs.

The award for a new weatherization training center in Clearfield is one of 34 projects in 27 states. The projects are intended to provide job training for local workers in energy efficiency, retrofitting and weatherization services.

The centers and programs will offer training using a combination of classroom, online and hands-on learning tools.

The project's video-based training will provide access to training for technicians statewide.

Archived training will also allow for new crew members to be quickly trained.
