A free workshop to help military veterans improve their job-seeking skills will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at South Towne Exposition Center, 9575 S. State St., in Sandy.

Until 11:30 a.m., workshops will be offered on topics ranging from resume writing and interviewing skills to applying for jobs with the federal government. From 1 to 5 p.m., a jobs-and-benefits fair will allow veterans to meet with employers from a number of industries, said Curt Stewart, spokesman for the sponsoring Utah Department of Workforce Services.

The Utah Department of Veteran's Affairs and the U.S. Department of Labor are co-sponsoring the event.
