Despite a down economy, service levels never slipped last year at Stein Eriksen Lodge or The Grand America Hotel, both of which retained their Five Diamond Awards from AAA Travel, the nation's largest travel organization.

This is the eighth year that Deer Valley-based based Stein Eriksen Lodge received AAA's top ranking, accorded to only 165 luxury hotels in North America (three more than last year). The Grand America has achieved Five Diamond status six times.

"The economy this past year presented numerous challenges for the hospitality industry," said Rolayne Fairclough, AAA Utah spokesperson. "To maintain the highest level of hospitality during these difficult economic times is remarkable. These repeat winners are proving their dedication to continuing a tradition of excellence."

No Utah restaurants earned Five Diamonds.
