Entrepreneurs will gather Wednesday for what's billed as CrowdPitch -- an event where small-business owners interested in socially responsible enterprises can promote business ideas before a panel of investors.
The winner gets to pitch an idea to an investment group called Innoventures Capital Partners.
FundingUniverse is hosting the competition. Participants will focus on profit-based social ventures that offer a variety of business models ranging from green energy and environmental solutions to organizations that incubate, mentor and create for-profit companies run by minority or women entrepreneurs.
The event runs from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Karen Gail Miller Conference Center, 9750 S. 300 West in Sandy.
