New York » Federal prosecutors have asked a judge to reconsider his decision to jail a top lieutenant to convicted Wall Street swindler Bernard Madoff.
Frank DiPascali pleaded guilty in August to helping Madoff implement a Ponzi scheme that suckered investors out of billions of dollars.
DiPascali has been cooperating with investigators, and prosecutors asked a judge Friday to let him out on bail while he awaits sentencing in the case.
To guarantee that he won't flee, they say, he would wear an electronic monitor and put up a $10 million bond and $2 million in family assets.
This is the second time prosecutors have asked for bail for DiPascali. The judge rejected the first request.
