The Navajo Nation Council has approved legislation to create the Navajo Green Economy Commission, the first step toward fulfilling hopes of creating hundreds of "green jobs" on the reservation straddling the Utah-Arizona border.
The legislation sets up an infrastructure to capture federal money earmarked for developing environmentally friendly jobs on small-scale, community projects.
