The Kanab Chamber of Commerce has received a $100,000 grant from the Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) to support efforts to develop local entrepreneurs.
The chamber will partner with Southern Utah University, Dixie State College, the Dixie Business Alliance's Small Business Development Center and the Center for Education, Business and the Arts to organize an entrepreneurship competition, educational events and development of a brochure outlining state and local business incentives.
"For many of Utah's smaller communities, entrepreneurship provides the best opportunity for economic growth", said Jason Perry, GOED's executive director. "Kanab's entrepreneur forum is a model for other rural Utah towns."
