URS Corp. hired Laura Springsteen as environmental planner and Brady Newton as geographic information systems intern. Springsteen will be working on environmental planning projects in natural resources and transportation, and Newton will be working on various projects for federal and private-industrial clients.

James L. Colvin joined Strong & Hanni as an associate in the commercial litigation practice group. He recently became a member of the bankruptcy court for the western and eastern districts of Oklahoma.

Representing the Utah County Association of Realtors in 2009 will be Matt Barton as president, Kimberlie Kerswell as president-elect, Chris Nichols as the first vice president, and Stephanie Vincent as treasurer. Other elected board members include Eric Bingham, Amber Burke, Mike Burns, Alan Carter, Rod Fife, Sharee Killpack, Dennis Murray, Jechelle Secretan and Scott Walters .

The Summit Group hired Jim Sakellariou as controller. He will serve as a support role to the internal affairs at TSG, including the accounting and human resources departments.

John Holt , vice president of Celtic Bank, was recently recognized for being a top producer with Utah Certified Development Co. He was recognized for his experience in SBA lending with Utah CDC.
