AeroMexico, which had dropped its air route between Salt Lake City and Mexico City three years ago, is coming back.

The airline will launch twice-weekly nonstop flights between Salt Lake City International Airport and Mexico's capital beginning Nov. 16, AeroMexico said Monday.

The new route will serve the needs of customers in Mexico and other Latin American countries that plan business and vacation trips to Utah, AeroMexico said in a statement.

Flights will leave Salt Lake City at 2:25 p.m. and arrive in Mexico City at 7:20 p.m. on Thursdays and Sundays.

Mexico City departures will leave at 10 a.m. and arrive in Salt Lake City at 1:05 p.m.

The airline will promote the route in Mexico with winter travel packages that include accommodations at Utah ski resorts and other tourist destinations.

The airline will fly the route with Boeing 737 jets. While most U.S. carriers have been eliminating or charging for meals and other services to save money, AeroMexico will offer free full meals and beverages, including cocktails.

AeroMexico abruptly pulled out of Salt Lake City in September 2005.
