$2.2M in Utahns' refunds unclaimed

The IRS said it has about $2.2 million in undeliverable tax refunds and "economic stimulus" payments for more than 3,200 Utahns.

Taxpayers may check the status of their stimulus checks and update their addresses using the “Where's My Stimulus Payment?" tool on the IRS.gov web site. Taxpayers without Internet access should call 1-866-234-2942. Taxpayers also can inquire about refunds and update their addresses with the “Where's My Refund?” tool on the IRS Web site or by calling 1-800-829-1954.

Company expands Salt Lake facility

Nicholas & Co. is expanding its food service distribution center in Salt Lake City's International Center, bringing the facility to more than 10 million cubic feet of storage space.

This latest expansion effectively doubles both the dry warehouse and the frozen warehouse to more than 4 million cubic feet each.

Locally owned and operated since 1939, Nicholas & Co. is the U.S.'s 13th largest independent food service distributor. The center and corporate offices are at 5520 West Harold Gatty Drive (575 North).

Navajo Nation's portfolio suffers

Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr. reports that the Navajo Nation's trust portfolio has declined nearly $240 million as a result of the financial crisis on Wall Street during the past month.

In his quarterly address to the Navajo Nation Council, Shirley reported that the Navajo Nation's retirement portfolio has also declined by nearly $81 million, or 23 percent, and individual 401(k) accounts have declined by $9 million, or 14 percent.

Seminar promotes workplace diversity

A "Diversity Roundtable" designed to help employers learn more about how diversity can enhance employee recruitment and retention efforts will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the scholarship reception room (level 4) at the University of Utah's Rice-Eccles Stadium.

Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. will give the featured address at the inaugural roundtable, organized by the U.'s David Eccles School of Business, American Express and Zions Bank, with assistance from Fidelity Investments, Goldman Sachs, Morris Murdock Travel and Salt Lake County.
