A site has been selected for a new liquor store in Pleasant Grove, the first outlet north of Orem in Utah County.

The store will be built at the Dana Point Shopping Center, 5595 S. Pleasant Grove Blvd.

Currently, imbibers in northern Utah County shop at a small liquor package agency in neighboring American Fork, which last year had $1.7 million in sales, making it the highest volume state outlet of its kind, according to officials with the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

Bank's 135 Wishes

program aims to

help communities

Zions Bank will accept nominations through Friday for its 135 Wishes program, a community service-focused celebration of the bank's 135th birthday.

Zions employees - around 1,500 are expected to participate - will fulfill a community wish for each of the bank's 138 branches in Utah and Idaho. Wishes should be service-based and address a local need, and could range from park cleanup to financial education outreach.

Applications, available at all Zions branches, ask for a brief description of the project. Monetary, religious and political wishes will not be considered, and to qualify applicants must be residents of Utah or Idaho or nonprofit organizations with local missions.
