Carson Shanks' return to Utah State basketball program, which wouldn't have become official until he graduated from North Dakota and enrolled at USU, ended even quicker than his initial blink-and-you-missed-it stint with the program.
After announcing via social media earlier this offseason that he'd be returning to Logan, Shanks announced today that he'll transfer to Loyola University-Chicago and play in the Missouri Valley Conference instead. Loyola also posted a release announcing his addition to the program.
Shanks, a native of Prior Lake, Minn., originally joined the USU program in the 2013, but he transferred to the University of North Dakota after one semester. He'd been with the North Dakota program since his transfer, and he played for North Dakota in the first round of this year's NCAA Tournament in Salt Lake City's Vivint Smart Home Arena.
