Utah State nose guard Travis Seefeldt has been granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA, the school has announced.

Seefeldt, who redshirted during the 2011 season, was given an exception from normal standards for his sixth year after being injured in an auto accident last June. He missed the 2015 season.

During his junior season, Seefeldt recorded 35 tackles, which included two sacks and six tackles for loss. He also had two fumble recoveries, two pass breakups and two blocked kicks. In his career, he has played in 39 games with two starts.

Seefeldt, a three-time academic all-Mountain West Conference selection, will graduate from Utah State this winter with a bachelor's degree in management information systems. He will begin working on his masters in business administration next spring.
