Logan • Utah State linebacker Kyler Fackrell has been named the Mountain West Conference defensive player of the week for his performance in Saturday's 31-27 win over Nevada.

Fackrell, a senior from Mesa, Ariz., finished with 10 tackles against the Wolf Pack. He also recovered a fumble in the Nevada end zone for a touchdown that gave the Aggies a 28-27 lead with 6:55 remaining.

The fumble recovery was Fackrell's fifth of the season. He leads the nation. It was also the second defensive touchdown he has scored in his career.

Utah State closes out its regular season on Saturday against BYU.
