Logan • Utah State, coming off a 52-26 win over Boise State on Friday night at Maverik Stadium, received five votes in this week's Amway top-25 coaches poll.

Only 33 teams in the country finished ahead of the Aggies, who tied in the voting with Oregon, Illinois, Western Kentucky and Washington.

In the Associated Press media poll, Utah State picked up seven votes. Thirty-five teams finished ahead of the Aggies in the AP balloting.

Utah State is 4-2 overall, with losses to Utah (24-14) and Washington (31-17) of the Pac 12. The Aggies are 3-0 in the Mountain West Conference and lead the Mountain Division by one game over Boise and Air Force. USU visits San Diego State on Friday night. Kickoff is 8:30 p.m. MDT.

• Linebacker Kyler Fackrell has been named the College Sports Madness (CSM) Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week. He finished with with a season-high 11 tackles, including 2.5 for loss. Fackrell also recovered two fumbles.

• The Aggies' Kevin Clune is the CoachingSearch.com Defensive Coordinator of the Week. Utah State forced eight turnovers against Boise State — all in a nine-possession stretch that started late in the first quarter and continued into the second half. The Broncos have not committed more turnovers in a game since 1989.
