Logan • Utah State held its first-ever Prime Time Madness basketball event Thursday night at the Spectrum.

The men's and women's teams scrimmaged and a shooting contest was held.

"We would like to continue to do [this] every year," men's coach Tim Duryea said. "We'd like to grow it and add more to it. It gives our guys an early chance to get in front of people and get those jitters out."

In the men's scrimmage, junior forward Lew Evans and junior wing Jalen Moore played well. Evans, a transfer from Tulsa, scored 11 points on 4-for-6 shooting. Moore, the Aggies' top scorer last season, finished with 10 points. He was 2-for-2 from the three-point line.

"We've got great athletes on the team this year," Moore said. "We've got everything we need to compete for a Mountain West [Conference] title. That is our goal and we want to make it to the NCAA tournament."
