Utah State players who have dreams of playing at the pro level will do their best to enhance their chances when the Aggies hold their pro day March 5 starting at 9 a.m. The session is not open to the public.

Players who plan to work out for pro scouts are corner La'Ron Bennett, punter Jaron Bentrude, receiver Ronald Butler, corner Quentin Byrd, kicker Nick Diaz, linebacker Jake Doughty, running back Joe Hill, defensive end B.J. Larsen, running back Robert Marshall, receiver Travis Reynolds, corner Rashard Stewart, safety Brian Suite, safety Frankie Sutera, offensive lineman Bill Vavau, linebacker Zach Vigil and offensive lineman Kevin Whimpey.

Of those players, Vigil, Whimpey and Larsen will draw the most interest. Vigil, the 6-foot-2, 240-pound senior from Clearfield, finished his career as the school record holder for tackles for loss (43.5) and ranked fifth with 389 total tackles.

Vigil, the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year, made 20.5 tackles for loss during his senior season and had 156 total tackles to rank third all-time in Mountain West history and fourth all-time in USU history.

Vigil is projected as a seventh round or free agent selection and is rated 15th out of 153 inside linebackers by nfldraftscout.com. However, given his history, the former walk-on will probably blow past those projections.

Whimpey is rated 75th out of 139 offensive tackles and was a first-team selection for all-Mountain West honors along with Larsen and Sutera. Larsen is rated 35th out of 197 defensive ends.
