With the recruiting frenzy mostly behind us (Utah State is still waiting to hear from 6-foot-2, 190-pound corner Wesley Bailey out of Eastern Arizona), let's break down how the Aggies did.

Overall fans have to like the way USU finished. The Aggies addressed some immediate needs with the signing of corner Cameron Haney, who was offered by several Pac-12 schools and offensive lineman Ben Wysocki, a transfer from UCLA.

The youth movement is solid with local Daniel Langi, Wade Meacham and Harris LaChance all signing.

So what do you think Aggie fans, like what you see? These are the ones that stand out to us.

The late get • Utah State did a nice job of swaying linebacker Joe Riggins in the last few days. Getting the Florida product helps in two ways. He could step in and contribute right away and if he is successful at USU. Riggins' presence, along with that of Escambia H.S. product Gerold Bright, should open more doors for the Aggies in Florida.

To be successful long-term, programs have to have a national presence in recruiting, it looks like the Aggies are on their way.

The speed • Logan product Chad Artist has plenty of speed. It will be fun to see how he develops and how the Aggies can use that speed to their advantage. They've done some creative things with JoJo Natson and others, look for Artist to maybe have some similar roles.

The Hawaii connection • Utah schools heading to the islands for recruiting purposes is certainly nothing new but the Aggies kept that pipeline alive with Viliamu Auwae, a highly touted player who may push for playing time right away.

The early signees • Utah State didn't sign many Wednesday because some of the players from the 2014 team will count toward this year's class and the addition of six mid-year transfers. Of those transfers, offensive linemen Preston Brooksby and Jude Hockel have had great offseason workouts, according to coach Matt Wells.

The Aggies also have a tight end (Chris Copier), a running back (Devante Mays), a defensive lineman (Christopher Unga) and a defensive back (Dallin Leavitt) who transferred.

Being involved with the program now gives those players a huge advantage.

Of course it will be a few seasons until we know how strong this class really is, but on the surface it looks good, don't you think?
