Utah State's Zach Vigil earned what was likely one of the many post-season recognitions on Thursday as he was named a second-team All-American by USA Today.

He was just one of six linebackers to earn the award and the 13th in school history to be named a first or second-team All-American.

Vigil was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year after he finished the year tied for 12th nationally in tackles for loss (1.5 pg) and ninth in the nation in tackles (11.2 pg).

Vigil's 145 tackles this season ranks fourth all-time in Mountain West single-season history and seventh in the Aggies' history.
