As a 3-7 team, San Jose State wasn't expected to give the Aggies too much trouble Friday. But Kent Myers and JoJo Natson, combined with another great defensive performance, made certain there wasn't any shocking outcome.

The combination of Myers and Natson provided the Aggies with plenty of explosive highlights in the 41-7 win while the Vigil brothers anchored the defense. The win by no means was surprising, but it was still encouraging to see the offense break through for some huge gains.

Also encouraging was the way the Aggies handled the game. They started off with a bang, sacking SJSU quarterback Blake Jurich to leave the offense in the hands of a guy who had never played college ball before Friday.

It was a great way for the seniors to go out. Hopefully, though, it won't be their last game in Romney Stadium. If the Aggies beat Boise State next week and CSU loses to either New Mexico or at Air Force, the Aggies will host the MWC title game.

It's frustrating knowing their fate isn't in their own hands, but give the Aggies props for even getting to this point.

Back in the preseason, most expected the Aggies and Broncos would be in the mix for the division title, but few could have predicted the Aggies would do so with their fourth-string quarterback.

But you have to like the Aggies' chances now, particularly as Myers seems more and more comfortable at quarterback. He continues to meet coach Matt Wells' standard of not doing anything to lose a game for the Aggies, but more and more, he shows he can win games for them.

Question is, can he win the big one? After Friday's performance, more people are inclined to answer yes than ever.
