The soccer team's season came to an end this week with a 3-1 loss to Colorado College in the first round of the Mountain West Championships,

however, there are plenty of Aggie teams in action as we head into the weekend.

In volleyball, the Aggies (10-12, 6-6) are on the road for the next four matches with the first match at Nevada Thursday at 7:30 p.m. USU swept Nevada earlier in the season.

The Aggies play at San Jose State on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Senior Rachel Orr continues to lead the team with 279 kills and 3.17 kills per set while setter Paige Neves is sixth in the conference averaging 9.91 assists per set and has 872 on the season.

In cross country, the men moved up from 13th to ninth in the Mountain Region rankings and the women moved up one spot to 12th. The next competition is at the NCAA Mountain Regionals in Albuquerque, N.M. on Nov. 14.

In women's basketball, the Aggies open the season Nov. 14 at Oregon. USU defeated Western New Mexico 87-66 in exhibition behind 11 points from Ingrida Strikas who had 11 points and six rebounds.

The gymnastics team is hosting a "Meet the Aggies" event Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Wayne Estes Center. The event is free to the public and will give fans a chance to interact with team members and watch some of the gymnasts perform.

In tennis, McKenzie Davis fell to Oklahoma State's Viktoriya Lushova 6-4, 6-1 in the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championship held in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.

Davis, the first Aggie player to compete in the event, will still compete in the consolation draw. Lushova was the No. 8 seed and No. 26th ranked player in the country.

Soccer players Taryn Rose, Brooke Larsen-Leavitt and Jessica Brooksby were recognized as all-Mountain West players by College Sports Madness for their efforts this season. Rose was also the CSM Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year.
