Change your calendars — Utah football is switching up the time for its second spring scrimmage.
The Utes will hold the scrimmage on Tuesday, April 11 starting at 3 p.m. at Rice-Eccles Stadium which will be open to the public. The practice scheduled for Saturday morning will be closed.
Coach Kyle Whittingham said Tuesday that the staff was "leaning toward" making quarterbacks live for a second straight scrimmage. The practice will also be Utah’s last before the Red-White game on Saturday, April 15 starting at 11 a.m.
Vainuku retiring from football • The Utes confirmed Wednesday that defensive tackle Vaha Vainuku is leaving the football team for an injury he suffered last season. He is slated to continue his studies at Utah on a medical scholarship and should graduate next spring.
