Grades have been posted. And the Utah men's basketball team expects to post two impact transfers on the floor at the Huntsman Center on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore guard Sedrick Barefield and junior forward David Collette will join Utah's active roster for the home game against Prairie View A&M at 4 p.m, coach Larry Krystkowiak confirmed. Both haven't played in a college game in more than a year, but could contend for starting roles in the game.

Utah (6-2) gladly welcomes them.

Of the two, Collette has more experience. He joins the Utes from Utah State, where he was a third-team All-Mountain West honoree as a freshman with 12.8 ppg and 5.0 rpg while shooting 59 percent from the field.

"Dave has a knack for playing in the post," Krystkowiak said in a Tuesday press conference. "He's strong, brings some veteran leadership and an understanding of the game. There's no substitute for some experience."

Barefield transferred in from Southern Methodist University, where he only played six games. As a senior at Corona Centennial (Calif.), he averaged 20.6 ppg, 4.2 apg and 1.2 spg while earning all-league and all-district honors.

"Creates some potential problems, I think, for defenses getting into the teeth of them," Krystkowiak said. "He can get to the rim. He has a great midrange game, a little bit of a lost art today, and certainly can make threes. And he does a nice job of finding his teammates."

Both sat out in accordance with NCAA guidelines. Collette paid his own way after Utah State didn't release him from his scholarship last year, while Barefield was denied a hardship waiver.
