Utah added a late commitment to its incoming 2015 class Saturday, receiving a pledge from San Mateo junior college safety Jordan Fogal.

The 6-foot Californian played as a freshman in 2013, recording 32 tackles and three interceptions in 11 games, and redshirted during the 2014 season while recovering from an ACL injury that he sustained just two days before the start of the season.

Fogal told The Tribune on Saturday afternoon that his knee is at 100 percent now. He was primarily recruited by safeties coach Morgan Scalley, and was further swayed on his visit at the tail end of this week, wowed by the facilities and feeling at home in Salt Lake City.

"Everything that they had to say and offer, I just fell in love with the place."

He will have three years to play three.

Fogal also has offers from UTEP and Washington State. He will visit El Paso on Monday. He said he's leaning toward canceling a trip to Pullman and limiting his choice to UTEP and Utah.

In the "pros" column for UTEP is that they see him as a dedicated safety, whereas Utah may ask him to play some nickel, too.
