Fox has renewed both of the shows it's airing on Wednesdays — which is sort of a good thing and sort of a bad thing.

"Lethal Weapon" (7 p.m., Fox/Ch. 13) isn't a great series by any means, but it is entertaining.

In tonight's episode, a murder involving a high school football star draws Riggs and Murtaugh into the corrupt world of college football recruiting.

And then there's "Star" (8 p.m., Fox/Ch. 13), which feels like more and more like self-indulgent junk. And the ratings haven't been great — it drew about 6.7 million viewers for its premiere, a number that fell to just over 4 million last week. (And that was 2.3 million fewer viewers than its lead-in, "Lethal Weapon.")

I don't know. Maybe Fox is just trying to keep "Star" executive producer Lee Daniels — who also created "Empire" — happy.

In tonight's episode, Otis' murder throws God's Blessings Beauty Salon into turmoil.
