The Poinsettia Bowl (7 p.m., ESPN) is sort of a blast from the past this year. BYU (8-4) faces Wyoming (8-5) for the first time since the Cougars left the Mountain West Conference to go independent in 2011.

This will be the 78th meeting between the two teams, who were in the same conference — four different conferences — for almost eight decades.

BYU comes into the game riding a four-game winning streak, and the Cougars have won seven of their last eight.

The Cowboys, who won the Mountain Division of the MWC but lost the championship game, have lost two in a row and three of their last four.
