This season, I am not only hate-watching "Grey's Anatomy" (7 p.m., ABC/Ch. 4), but I'm arguing with my daughter about it. A lot.

We both are "Grey's" hate watchers. We know we should have given up on the show years ago, but we keep watching it. (No, that doesn't make either of us particularly proud. Or smart.)

This bad show got worse at the end of last season when Alex (Justin Chambers), mistakenly believing that Andrew (Giacomo Gianniotti) was about to have sex with Jo (Camilla Luddington), beat the hell out of him. Seriously injured him.

It's the latest ridiculous "Grey's Anatomy" plotline. It's badly written baloney. If this show had any grounding in reality at all, Alex would have been fired by the hospital and he'd be convicted of the felony with which he's been charged.

But … he's my daughter's favorite character. And she is annoyed with me when I say (repeatedly), "Lock him up!"

I'll be saying it again tonight, I'm sure. In a clip from the episode, Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) expresses her anger at Alex.

"I'm still mad," she says. "You beat up my roommate."

"So that's why you're mad?" Alex asks. "Some guy you barely know who pays you rent got beat up?"

Andrew didn't just get beat up. Alex beat him up, nearly costing him an eye. And, again, for no good reason.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Arizona asks.

I want to ask the writers the same question.
