The local college football season kicks off tonight, with the Utah Utes hosting the Southern Utah Thunderbirds (6 p.m., P12N).

The other local game this evening — Weber State at Utah State (6 p.m.) — won't be on TV. It will, however, be on Twitter. Really.

I don't know how well this will work. It's never been done before. This is the first college football game streamed live on Twitter.

But it's going to be live video (provided by the Mountain West's online network), and it's free.

There are a few other games on TV tonight —, Appalachian State at Tennessee (5:30 p.m., SEC Network); Indiana at Florida International (5:30 p.m., ESPNU); Rice at Western Kentucky (6 p.m., CBSSN); South Carolina at Vanderbilt (6 p.m., ESPN); Oregon State at Minnesota (7 p.m., Big Ten Network); and South Dakota at New Mexico (7 p.m., ROOT).

Elsewhere on TV ...

• "Battlebots" (7 p.m., ABC/Ch. 4): The round of 16 continues.

• "Big Brother" (8 p.m., CBS/Ch. 2): Another houseguest is evicted.

• "Lip Sync Battle" (8 and 11 p.m., Spike): Hayden Panettiere vs Eva Longoria

• "Cheer Squad" (11 p.m., Freeform): The team competes against an old rival at nationals.

• "Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll" (11 p.m., FX): It's opening night begins at "Feast."

• "Queen of the South" (11 p.m., USA): Teresa tries to save a witness to the heist; Camila vows that she's back in business and is done with Epifanio.
