At Day 2 of the Republican National Convention, barring some sort of miracle Donald Trump will be formally nominated for president. Speakers include two of his children — Donald Jr. and Tiffany.

I'm guessing a whole bunch of people will be closely examining their speeches to avoid plagiarizing anyone ... as their stepmother did on Monday.

CNN, C-SPAN, Fox News Channel and MSNBC are at the convention pretty much all day; PBS/Ch. 7 plans three hours from 6-9 p.m.; CBS/Ch. 2, ABC/Ch. 4, CBS/Ch. 2 and NBC/Ch. 5 each plan an hour from 8-9 p.m.

• I watched the first half-dozen episodes of "Containment" (8 p.m., CW/Ch. 30) before it premiered, and then dropped it … because I was bored.

Apparently, I wasn't alone. The CW didn't cancel much of anything this year, but it did cancel "Containment."

To be fair, this show about a deadly disease that prompts a massive quarantine was billed as a limited series, which would lead us to believe that we'll get some sort of wrap-up in tonight's 13th-and-final episode. But it was also put together with the thought that it could continue if the ratings were good. Which they weren't.

So … you're on your own here.

• Also tonight, there's a meaningless soccer game featuring a big-name team. Real Salt Lake hosts Inter Milan (8 p.m., KMYU) in a friendly. (An exhibition match, that is.)

Yes, I'm an RSL fan. Yes, I have season tickets. No, I'm not going tonight because I wasn't interested in paying extra money to watch a team I don't care about from a league I don't care about (Italy's Serie A) in a game that doesn't mean anything.

Maybe I'll watch it on KMYU. Maybe
