Thursday on TV: We've got your 'Greatest Hits' to go with 'Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll'

One music-centered show debuts tonight, another returns for a second season.

ABC is hoping that nostalgia can drive is summer series "Greatest Hits" (8 p.m., Ch/ 4), a six-week event that features popular music and performers from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s.

This week's performers include REO Speedwagon, Pitbull. Jason Derulo, Ray Parker Jr., Kenny Loggins, Kim Carnes. Rick Springfield and Kool and the Gang.

And FX brings us Season 2 of "Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll" (11 p.m.) — which is sort of a comedy with music. And with Denis Leary, which makes it worth watching.

In tonight's episode, the band's future is in doubt after a close friend dies.

• "Jungle Shark" (11 p.m., Discovery): The migration of bull sharks up the rivers of Costa Rica

• "Queen of the South" (11 p.m., USA): Teresa is determined to prove her worth to Camila.
