There's a bit of a local tie to the new AMC series "Into the Badlands" (Sunday, 11 p.m.) — 17-year-old local Ally Ioannides is in the cast.

But what really makes this series go is martial arts star Daniel Wu, who stars as cold-blooded killer Sunny — who, as it turns out, may not be so cold-blooded after all.

This is another post-apocalyptic drama, but it's not just another post-apocalyptic drama. He saves a mysterious boy from killers, and the story is off and running.

The premise is intriguing. And, after seeing the first two episodes, I'm anxious to see more.

And the martial arts sequences are nothing short of amazing. Absolutely fantastic.

Be warned — "Into the Badlands" is an an extraordinarily violent show. But if you can take "The Walking Dead," you can certainly take this.
