"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" is one of those shows that sounds, well, crazy.

This new series (Monday, 7 p.m., CW/Ch. 30) is about a high-powered, highly driven, young lawyer, Rebecca (Rachel Bloom) who is unfulfilled and unhappy. She runs into an old boyfriend, Josh Chan (Vincent Rodriguez III) from her teen years and, on a whim, decides to quit her New York career, give up her life and follow him to suburban L.A. — West Covina, to be exact.

And the next thing you know, you're watching a big musical production number at the West Covina mall.

Yes, it sounds, well, crazy. But the pilot fun, Bloom is engaging and this looks like it could be very entertaining.

It's also a great companion to The CW's returning "Jane the Virgin" (8 p.m., Ch. 30). Season 2 begins with the baby missing — and Jane (Gina Rodriguez) more than a bit frantic.

It remains fun. And Rodriguez is great.
