After pretty much losing its way in Season 2, "Sleepy Hollow" (8 p.m., Fox/Ch. 13) tries to reboot in Season 3.

• There's a new showrunner, Clifton Cambell ("The Glades").

• Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) are both back. Ichabod is struggling with the deaths of his wife and his son; Abbie has a new job — she's now an FBI agent.

• A couple of big characters are no longer in the show. Katrina Crane (Katia Winter) and Henry Parish (James Noble) are both deceased. We saw them die at the end of last season, and, yes, they're really gone.

• Frank Irving (Orlando Jones) is alive, but he's gone from the series. So is recurring character Nick Hawley (Matt Barr).

• The Horseman of Death/Abraham (Neil Jackson) has been sort of dead and sort of alive since the series began … but he's going, too.

• Jenny Mills (Lyndie Greenwood) — Abbie's sister — returns. And Joe Corbin (Zach Appelman) — the son of the late sheriff August Corbin (Clancy Brown) is joing the cast as a regular.

• There is a new menace, of course. And Campbell is promising more humor and less darkness in Season 3.

The changes work pretty well in the season premiere. "Sleepy Hollow" seems to have regained its sense of humor.
